Tile reglazing whether it is wall or floor tiles is becoming more and more popular amoung homeowners. Tile replacement is time consuming, your home becomes a construction area, and much more expensive. Most reglazing jobs are completed in one to two days. Cleaning reglazed tiles are much easier than new tiles. One nice feature or reglazed tiles are the grout lines are permentaly sealed with the glaze which means mold and mildew will not grow from porous grout lines. Mold and mildew is still an issue with tile replacement since there will be grout lines.
The Process of Tile Reglazing
We will protect anything that is not being glazed with drop cloths, masking paper, or removing items from the worksite. The tiles will be cleaned and etched which prepares the tiles for our bonding angents. We will spray three coats of our glaze on the tiles. The final step is to remove masking paper, caulk as needed, and clean up the work area of all tools and materials.
The tiles can be glazed with a solid color glaze or multi-color and a clear top coat.
